Scorchio!

According to MetService the other day, the temperature in Timaru, New Zealand, would be 89ยบ.

That's hot enough to fry a paving stone.

Here comes Buster Poindexter to tell us all about it.

So we go rum-bum-bum-bum.

Brass nerve

I appreciate the cutbacks we're all having to endure at the moment.

But to reduce today's opening ceremony to a display by the Boys' Brigade is taking things too far.

Cobblers to punctuation

Thanks to Dennis A who captured this one in, well, Garforth.

Actually, I've just checked the Garforth Cobbler's website where, amongst an array of typos, the sign is proudly featured.

I hope he never has to engrave anything that requires plurals or apostrophes.

Oops. Spoke too soon.

Two true

According to local news station WNDU in South Bend, Indiana, schools aren't demanding enough.

Clearly.

We're where we were

Thanks to John H who shared this one which he found in Sheffield.

When I say he found it, I mean he found the sign. Not Mamas & Leonies.

After all, as John asks, if they were just around the corner, where are they now?

And he couldn't be bothered looking.

Just a minute.

Shouldn't that be Mama's and Leonie's?

You may well ask since they don't appear to know themselves. There are no less than three variations on this one page on their website:

Mamas & Leonies, Mama's and Leanies, and Mama's and Leonies.

Enough to drive you round the bend.

Which, it seems, is how you find the restaurant.
