Apparently this photograph has been doing the rounds for a year or two but I'd not seen it until Rod B sent it in.
So you can thank him. Or not.
Given that current affairs covers events of political interest, including stories about politicians and the various shenanigans they get up to, you may be forgiven for thinking that the photo has not, in fact, been contrived.
And that what you see is exactly what you get.
Gaffes. Published. Especially by those that should know better.

Food for vetties
Thanks to Jon C for this one which he found on the Daily Mail's website.
Here's a closer look at what we might call the animaly.
The editing team made a real dog's dinner out of that one.

Shoot the messenger
The ever-reliable late-night team on BBC News strikes again.
Thanks to Dennis A, Jon C, Greg L and everyone else who brought this soon-to-be classic to my attention.
Blimey. If that's incredible value, I'd like to see - or preferably sample - a massaging service that's expensive.
Incidentally, I've just found a link to what's reported to be the world's most expensive massage service. For the sake of those who are perhaps a little sensitive about such things, it's not a direct link. But you'll find it soon enough if you go looking.
It's a place where the line between massage and other, er, more specialised services grows decidedly thin.
Anyway, getting back to Mark Zuckerberg, WhatsApp must have seen him coming.
It told me I could have it for 69p.

Let's start at the very beginning...
...It's a very good place to start.
I wasn't sure about this one from John H when I first saw it, but its authenticity appears to be entirely genuine.
It was unearthed by Melissa Harrison (@M_Z_Harrison) the other day at Gladstone's Library in Hawarden, North Wales.
She found it in a copy of a book published in 1830 entitled, believe it or not, The Vocabulary Of East Anglia: An Attempt To Record The Vulgar Tongue Of The Twin Sister Counties, Norfolk And Suffolk by The Late Rev Robert Formby.
Here's to you, Rev Rob.
Your book couldn't have started more aptly.

Expecting the unexpected
I like Brian McDermott. I really do. And, even though Dennis A sent me this, I'm guessing that he does too.
As Head Coach at Leeds Rhinos, BMcD is clearly inspirational, motivational and an all-round good egg.
Put him in front of a microphone, though, and the egg becomes decidedly scrambled.
This is his reaction to newly-recruited Tom Briscoe's hat-trick of tries on his debut.
Hmm. I'd stick to coaching, Brian. You're good at that.

Bucketloads
I know the recent weather in the UK has been driving everyone mad.
But look on the bright side; we might have this to face soon.

Well-loved bargain
Another price-busting deal today; this one courtesy of Sainsbury's.
Ashley D spotted the bargain in Leamington Spa.
Professional? Hardly.
Affordable? Cheap at twice the price.

Chinese puzzles
On a recent trip to China, Jon C found many things he considered amusing.
Or, as the Chinese might put it in their beautifully literal translating style, he succeeded in obtaining a herd of devices which he was mindful would tickle him.
For example, this sign he spotted in a lift provided a number of gems.
I don't know about you but, by the time I'd finished reading these, the voice in my head had started using a corny stereotypical Chinese accent and was adding 'Confucius he say' before every sentence.

Procrastination
It's all kicking off in the world of Rugby League. (Pun entirely intentional.)
In previous corporate lives I've attended meetings about meetings. You know the ones. Their sole purpose, or so it seems, is to arrange the time and date of the next meeting.
And we often hear, especially in diplomatic circles, of talks about talks.
But voting to vote? That's a new one on me.

Fairy-tale bargain
Some more 'deals' have been unearthed and I'll be sharing them over the coming weeks.
The first is from Kim F who found it at Tesco in Buckie, Scotland.

Today, just this which was doing the rounds on Facebook recently.
If nothing else, you'll find yourself humming it later today.

Horse chestnut
You can always rely on BBC News to report with accuracy and responsibility.
It's Chinese New Year and Dennis A reveals that the TV channel decided to extend a welcome to us all.
Celebrate?
I bet they're having a ball.
