Scorchio!

According to MetService the other day, the temperature in Timaru, New Zealand, would be 89ยบ.

That's hot enough to fry a paving stone.

Here comes Buster Poindexter to tell us all about it.

So we go rum-bum-bum-bum.

Brass nerve

I appreciate the cutbacks we're all having to endure at the moment.

But to reduce today's opening ceremony to a display by the Boys' Brigade is taking things too far.

Cobblers to punctuation

Thanks to Dennis A who captured this one in, well, Garforth.

Actually, I've just checked the Garforth Cobbler's website where, amongst an array of typos, the sign is proudly featured.

I hope he never has to engrave anything that requires plurals or apostrophes.

Oops. Spoke too soon.

Two true

According to local news station WNDU in South Bend, Indiana, schools aren't demanding enough.

Clearly.

We're where we were

Thanks to John H who shared this one which he found in Sheffield.

When I say he found it, I mean he found the sign. Not Mamas & Leonies.

After all, as John asks, if they were just around the corner, where are they now?

And he couldn't be bothered looking.

Just a minute.

Shouldn't that be Mama's and Leonie's?

You may well ask since they don't appear to know themselves. There are no less than three variations on this one page on their website:

Mamas & Leonies, Mama's and Leanies, and Mama's and Leonies.

Enough to drive you round the bend.

Which, it seems, is how you find the restaurant.

Mediterian seabass

I'm delighted to welcome more people in Peterborough who are joining our growing band of typo spotters there. This gem comes from Jayne.

Thanks a lot, Jayne. Please keep them coming.

So, what's wrong with the sign?

Well, Sea Bass should be two words for a start.

Then, in Mediterranean, someone's swapped the e for an i.

And the other missing letters?

Ran away.

Losers

An email arrived last week from these people.

Yes, those lids can cause real problems when let loose.

And, if that wasn't enough, they've also had difficulty copying the word separate.

A lost cause, I think.

Simply irrestible

When you're going to create a typo, you might as well make sure it appears on the front cover.

I had to include this one.

It was far too tempting to rest.

Blushing servers

Techlicious issued a warning this week.

At least these rouge servers appear to be embarrassed by their behaviour.

Monday 9 July 2012

Its Canada Day

These guys were celebrating Canada Day last weekend.

Plenty to do?

I wonder if there were any English lessons on offer.

Going under

Jon C has been patrolling the streets of Peterborough for us once again.

Peterborough

Unfortunately, after the refurb, they'll still have the flyer's writer working there.

And that writer will remain convinced that MS Word provides the perfect tool for creating flyers.

But, when you can be a perfect tool on your own, who needs Word?

No effin boyfriend

A trailer for the new Magic Mike movie contains this typo.

Here's the full trailer. Blink and you might miss it.

First reported here, it sounds as if the typo may well be the most interesting thing about the movie which will no doubt be rated as...

No effin good.

Collision coarse

OK, so it's two years since it was first published but I've only just seen it.

A typo that was always going to happen.

I've heard the Collider being described as a massive erection. I'm beginning to realise why.

I imagine such an event would come about as a result of this.

Aagh. Damn my imagination.
